Journal Article 1403/07/20 <p>This article analyzes the works of Arman Fernandez, focusing on his series of dolls, through the lens of Emmanuel Levinas’s moral philosophy. Drawing on the concept of “responsibility for the Other” in Levinas’s thought, it seeks to examine the relationship between the dolls’ faces and the ethical presence of the “Other” in Fernandez’s creations. In interpreting Levinasian notions of desire, the face of the Other is understood as a call to responsibility—an experience that becomes manifest in the viewer’s encounter with the silence, stillness, and questioning gaze of Fernandez’s dolls. Employing a phenomenological method of analysis and philosophical ethics, the study demonstrates how Fernandez’s dolls transcend the realm of mere objects and are elevated to the status of faces of the Other—faces that can neither be possessed nor ignored. In this context, the silence and fragility embedded in the form and texture of the dolls summon the viewer to a moral responsibility rooted in Levinas’s understanding of the “I–Other” relationship.</p> <p>این مقاله به تحلیل آثار آرمان فرناندز، با تمرکز بر مجموعه عروسک‌های او، از منظر فلسفه اخلاقی امانوئل لویناس می‌پردازد. با نگاهی به مفهوم «پاسداری از دیگری» در اندیشه‌ لویناس، تلاش می‌شود تا نسبت میان چهره‌ عروسک‌ها و حضور اخلاقی «دیگری» در آثار فرناندز مورد واکاوی قرار گیرد. در تفسیر خواهش‌های لویناسی، از چهره‌ دیگری به‌عنوان فراخوانی برای مسئولیت یاد می‌شود، امری که در مواجهه‌ تماشاگر با سکوت، ایستایی و نگاه پرسش‌گر عروسک‌های فرناندز تبلور می‌یابد. مقاله حاضر با بهره‌گیری از روش تحلیل پدیدارشناسی و مفاهیم فلسفه‌ اخلاق، نشان می‌دهد که چگونه عروسک‌های فرناندز از ساحت ابژه‌ صرف فراتر رفته و به جایگاه چهره‌هایی از دیگری ارتقا می‌یابند، چهره‌هایی که نه قابل تملک‌اند و نه قابل چشم‌پوشی. در این میان، سکوت و شکنندگی در فرم و بافت عروسک‌ها، مخاطب را به مسئولیتی فرامی‌خواند که ریشه در نگاه لویناسی به رابطه‌ من و دیگری دارد.</p> https://jmaaue.org/index.php/jmaaue/article/download/98/87
